July Fishing!
The month of July has been a true summer month with hot days and some relatively cool nights. The Cannonsville Reservoir release has been sustained at around 500cfs and was recently risen to 700cfs. This cold water is providing nice cool water for the West Branch and very Upper Main stem. Down stream it is helping the lower main stem flows stay up so there are not as many shallow exposed places. The fishing for all species here has remained good, with the Smallmouth Bass fishing taking the cake with 60+ fish days on the regular.
Here are some photos of our successful anglers from the end of June and into July. Please give us a call at 570-224-4747 to schedule a late July or August fishing trip. A day on the water is blissful and relaxing, come join us.
June Fishing
June has been a mix between Shad, Bass, Walleye and Trout fishing. All Species have been feeding and caught daily. We have had a super busy month and we will now begin to have July bass fishing openings. Give us a call or email to set up a July fishing trip.
We finish out a busy May on the Upper Delaware!
Water temperatures allowed us to fish through the third week of May pretty successfully for Trout. Once we got around 68 degree water we started targeting Shad, Bass, and Walleye more regularly. We can still do limited Trout trips on the West Branch and Upper Main stem when the water flows and temperatures cooperate.
May continues with great fishing!
Early May fishing!
Early May has brought successful angling. Here are some photos to prove it.
Second Half of April
Spring Fishing has been great on our Upper Delaware River!
April is fishing Great!
April started off with below average temperatures, snow, followed by significant rain. Now that we have seen stable warming temperatures and less rain, the river is in great shape. The past week on the water has provided all time Brown trout fishing. Here are some photos from the past few days.
Spring Fishing!!
April has started off with unusually warm temperatures and low river flows. This is setting a few things on the river ahead of schedule. We are seeing bugs and spawning habits happening up to a month earlier than last year. Being that it is still April and inconsistent weather is holding true, these now cold air temps and wintery weather should put a slight pause in the early spring trends. But for now, the fishing has been productive for Browns and Rainbows, and of course in Delaware fashion Walleye and Bass are still feeding.
Walleye Season ends, March brings nice weather.
Sweetwater Guide Service was able to get out on the river a few days here in early March. The fishing was good. Walleye season is now closed until the first Saturday in May. We will be targeting Brown trout, Rainbow trout and Shad, April-June. Schedule your trip today!
